Hi.

I received a Nikkor 24mm f2.8 and wasn't able to mount it on 5D MkII because there was a protruding part hitting the electronic contacts.
after having checked around that this metallic part was not absolutely necessary for the lens to work on Nikon MF bodies, I decided to try to service it.
I read a lot of very good comments about this wide lens and I want a good wide lens for my 5D.

It has been very easy to do and took me 10 minutes max.

1- the lens

2- the protruding part

3- Operation
I protected the back of the lens

and then cut it with a precision saw

4- Done. Result

Nicely done,I must admit it looked scary when you had the saw next to the lens. Smile Looking at the images it was worth the effort. Cool
