I took advantage of Sorin (Himself) - selling off some glass and my choice arrived yesterday via Canadapost (early Shocked ). I think I found an interesting value (which some may debate).
The Spiratone 400 mm/ f:6.3 and the T2 to MD adapter arrived today. Haven't shot with it but put it on the XGM and wow what a reach!

Here are some pics of it supplied by Himself . . .

Now to the fun of testing it out.

I suspect a clutch of these was what started the rumours about Saddam's WMD's?

Can this take the strategic nuclear warhead or just the conventional one?

Doug, it looks large enough to where it could take either. Laughing

Good luck with that, Jim!

Shocked I don't think its surplus from a T62. Confused

Could it be M48 or Sheridan? Confused

Looks too low tech for an Abrams Laughing Laughing

Since it doesn't glow, I'd say its conventional, not nuclear Laughing

It really sort of puts me right back into the "lesser man" syndrome I had as an adolescent. Laughing

Finally fired up the monster and took 3 shots of flowers at 30' - wow.

Since the samples turned out so nice, they're in the gallery - here's a link . . .
