Tried this little lens out today on the largest focusing tube. Very windy for
anything else, so:

This set is dedicated to peterqd, who simply adores this subject matter...LOL

These shots were at either f11 or f16

I like this subject matter too.

The no. 2 lkes me much.

The 1 and 3, handheld? Wind so heavy?

Very good contrast, rich colours.

Estudleon, yes, all are handheld, one better than others. Laughing

I got the Tominon 135/4.5 going today, took all the tube sections and close
focusing is something like one meter:

Didn't quite nail focusing the eyes of the cat, better luck next time...

Both shots at either f8 or f11

Very sharp, especially the no. 1.

It's seemed to me be very good, contrast and sharp. Is it easy to focus at F/4,5?

I much more like your other photos than these ones Sad subject is so far from my taste.

Estudleon, focusing is rather hard regardless of fstop due to narrow DOF. I
don't get much leeway even stopped-down, have to be right on target or
it looks like the cat pic.

Attila, so sorry. Laughing

Well, here's a couple in better focus:

Have to find or fashion a hood for these lenses, prone to flare!

Looking at the cat Bill shows how narrow the DOF is. The flat leaf was easier.

Ron, yes it sure was easier on the leaf. My focus was on the eyes of the
cat and let everything else fall where it may, shooting at f16.

Hey, Mike, nice avatar, and a smart cat it is, too! LOL

Sorry, fresh out of any more rusted pictures, but here's a B&W treatment
of the above cat pic, done in LR2, custom mix:

nice series Bill
good subject to master focus
I remember how difficult it was with the 400D, now with the 40D it is much more easy
I like the second cat shot in color
I think the tominon is not the best for this job, the oof are full of distracting aberrations in #1 & #3

Peter, that bollard is so rusted it looks like bark and wood! Shocked And
here I thought you never take such pictures! Laughing

Poilu, doing a biopsy on #1 and #3, I'm pretty sure the letters "camera"
and "shake" are in the word. Wink I was being buffeted by high winds
Monday and am 38 lbs lighter, after all. Laughing #2 must have been taken
between gusts. Yesterday, no or little wind, and the second cat pic that's
in focus, was taken at 1/13sec! Yes, there are better lenses, but it's amazing
what these cheap little lenses can do, thanks for your comments!
