I don't have the Mamiya 55mm, at least not yet. I'm still researching the lens, trying to get a grasp of the many different versions and their optical differences. I see a couple of versions - a chrome nose with chrome aperture ring model, a mostly black model with chrome trim rings, an all black model, an all black SX model, and an all black ES model. I've seen some of these come in two mounts, a bayonet mount and an m42 mount. I've learned that some of the black m42 models have an aperture ring that protrudes beyond the rear mount and interferes with adapters, I will likely avoid these models.
