Sorry for being so enthusiastic about the Elmarit 35, but I think this lens is really great!

Today we went for a short walk, because it did not rain (!).
My daughter wanted to show her little doll the streets around our house. Wink

I took the 350D with the Leica Elmarit 2.8/35 - yes, only that! Wink

The sun was already setting and so I got a good chance to test the lens at very difficult situations.

#1, directly into the bright sky, just auto de-RAWed and resized, nothing else! (ISO400, f4)

and as a 100% crop

The "Auto" setting pushes up the shadows a bit.

Who says this lens has a flare problem? I can't see one! Very Happy

#2, again into the bright sky, just auto de-RAWed and resized, nothing else! (ISO400, f4)

BTW, these are some of the shots I was actually going out for:
#3

#4

100% crop (no sharpening)

I guess, the Elmarit and the EOS 350D are a fantastic team!

Cheers,
Carsten

The great thing of Leica lenses is, they don't create the "fresh red jam" effect on people's faces.
For this reason, I love them above anything else for portraits. A bit less for landscapes where in my opinion they accentuate too much the cool tones.

Smile Red Jam good one Laughing I guess I will take a Leica portrait lens too.

Nice shots - of course with a model like that it's hard to go wrong. The lens looks like a real beauty.

Or even "red ham". Wink

Attila, for your Olympus a 35mm or a 50mm would be best, for your Nikon a 50mm will perhaps be a better choice.
When I want to take a photo of my little girl and only want her face in the frame, I have to be pretty close with my 35mm at my 350D.
My 50/55mm are perfect indoor portrait lenses at a crop-cam.
Outdoors, I kinda prefer 85mm (or even 135mm).

Don't know I feel comfortable with longer focal length 85-100 mm even if I have 2x crop camera.I am planning to buy somewhere Leica in this focal length.
