Thanks for the info guys.

I like my Pentacon 4/200, it's a later model and one day I want to get an earlier zebra style one.

You should, they go very cheap for what they are.

Anyone know if the Soligor 5.5/300 M42 is as good as the 3.5/200 Soligor?

Not much difference here. If you have good copy keep it. Personally I prefer the later versions as they have more neutral colors. Zebras are too warm to my taste.

I had pentacon 200/4, Nikon 200/4 ai, smc takumar 200/4 and zeiss 200/2,8

Nikon is always my fave 200mm
but I sold all 'coz I need no tele this time, I don;t feel comfort focusing tele lens in NEX

Merci Beaucoup Olivier!

I just bought one in excellent condition for 10ukp, I figured my Tair-3 was a bit too big and heavy for use with my NEX so this should make a nice alternative:

Thankyou. I have that Soligor 200 saved in my watch list, hoping I can get it cheap.

It has to be cheap, I've just spent a fair bit of cash on these:

Steinheil Auto-Tele Quinar 3.5/135 - 14ukp
Yashica ML 2.8/35 - 26ukp
Konica Hexanon AR 1.8/50 - 11ukp
Panagor 2/35 - 18ukp
Pentacon 2.8/135 - 15ukp (with EOS-M42 adapter, a bargain!)
Canon FD 1.4/50 SSC - 20ukp
Soligor 5.5/300 - 10ukp
Industar-50 3.5/50 -6ukp (collapsible version)

So I've just spent 120ukp on lenses and 189ukp on a NEX-3 and 30ukp on adapters for the NEX, my total budget to spend was 350ukp so I've got 10-15 left to grab a Soligor 3.5/200 or another 200mm lens. I'll probably have to wait until I've sold off the collection of lenses I've decided aren't keepers before adding any new ones, I figure I have ample glass to play with on my NEX once my adapters arrive so I'm in no great hurry to buy any more lenses for the time being.

Many thanks for everyone's advice!

WOW.
Enjoy them and, please, share their pics and photos you'll make with them. Very Happy

For sure, I will test them all on my NEX and post the results, I am going to retest all my other lenses in my signature on the NEX too so lots of threads to come!

I think I got some bargains among that lot, all should be really good if reviews are correct.

(I'm new here)
I've been looking for a good but small-ish 200mm to use on my 5D2.
I had a Nikkor 200/4 Ai but sold it because the fringing was terrible.
I have now bought both a Zuiko 200/4 and a 200/5 to try. (I love the way you can get all these lenses then offload for little or no loss if they don't please.)

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in the UK about half way up on the west side.
Needing to sort out my gear for Lake District holiday in the Autumn.
Maybe some time before I get results to post!

Hiya timbalic.

I live in the Lake District, lots of opportunities for testing lenses up here, so much scenery!

Instead of buying another 200 I decided to remount an excellent 1950's Ross Xpress 8.5 inch (216mm) lens instead.

I will still but another 200 but I have my eye on something really good like the Tele-Tessar f4 or the Canon FD 2.8.
