Really nice results . I'm still missing a proper zoom lens in this range, I should look into it.

There seems to be a few different variations of this lens in the nikkor line.
Is this the one that takes a 72 mm filter size, or is it one of the later AI-s variants?

Interesting images! Like 1 small Like 1 small

I have a few of the classical vintage 35-70mm zooms -

Canon FD and nFD 2.8-3.5/35-70mm
Konica AR 3.5/35-70mm (62mm filter)
Minolta MD-I / MD-III 3.5/35-70mm
Nikkor AiS 3.5/35-70mm and AF 2.8/35-70mm
Olympus OM 3.6/35-70mm
Pentax AF 2.8/35-70mm

The Nikon stands out because of its extremely low distortion (<1% over the entire range, at least at infinity).
